What the tools do

Scrubproof redacts, numbers, stamps and compares PDF files and edits their metadata, inside your browser. The after-redaction check reads the text of the new file with two text readers and scans every object in the file; it reports what it looked for and what it found.

You decide, you check

Scrubproof is a tool. It is not legal advice and it does not certify that a document satisfies a court rule, a public records law, a privacy law or a contract. Automatic search finds the patterns it knows, and it cannot read text inside pictures. Deciding what must be removed is your job, and looking at the finished file before you share it is part of that job. If a redaction matters, open the result in a different PDF reader and try to select and search the text.

No warranty, limited liability

The tools are provided as they are, free of charge, without any promise that they are error-free or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, SKYSEED TECH LLC is not liable for loss or harm that comes from using the tools or from relying on a result, including documents shared with information that should have been removed. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law of your country that cannot be limited, or liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Your files and results

Your files stay on your device and remain yours. Files you produce with the tools are yours to use for any purpose. You must have the right to process the documents you open. Do not use the site to break the law or to attack it, and do not copy the site, its code or its design to run a competing service.

The tools include open-source code under its own licences, listed on the credits page.
